Amanda Hinds, President, SEA

This is my third year at Ball State University and my third year of involvement in the Student Education Association.  I am from Muncie; I graduated from Cowan High School.  I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education with a Latin minor.  I enjoy reading literature of all kinds, and I hope to secure a teaching job here in Indiana, possibly at a private school.  I am excited for my future as the president of SEA.  My motivation and organizational skills make this a perfect job for me.

I am a junior here at Ball State, beginning my third year as an SEA member and my second as an officer. Last year I participated in many activities with SEA, including Homecoming, A Better Way, and Outreach to Teach; I hope to take on even more responsibilities throughout this next year. I am from New Castle, Indiana, and am majoring in Secondary Mathematics Education with hopes of working with a high school marching band and/or coaching a speech team outside of the math classroom.  I am also exploring administration as an option in the far-off future.

Nancy Clevenger

I'm Nancy Clevenger, am an instructor in elementary education.  I typically teach edel 200, edel 450 and supervise student teachers.  This is my 7thyear at Ball State, coming from the public schools.  I previously taught at Cowan Elementary (on the south side of Muncie) as well as at Pendleton and Alexandria.  Most of my teaching experience was in kindergarten, but I alsotaught, 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th grades.  I received both my Bachelor and Masters degrees from Ball State.  I always wanted to teach kindergarten and was blessed to be able to fulfill that dream.  Now I hope to inspire and encourage others to become solid teachers who care about children enough to put forth the effort to be great teachers.  I'm married with 3 great boys, 2 of which are currently attending Ball State, one majoring in social studies secondary education (woo hoo!) and one majoring in exercise science (hoping to go on to medical school).
